.The runc container runtime has been removed

The `runc` container runtime has been removed. The container runtime in RHEL 10 is crun. The crun is a fast and low-memory footprint OCI container runtime written in C. The crun binary is up to 50 times smaller and up to twice as fast as the runc binary. Using crun, you can also set a minimal number of processes when running your container. The crun runtime also supports OCI hooks.

      Description

In RHEL 10.0 GA, the runc package has been removed.  The crun package should be the container runtime that is used.

      Tasks:

      • Test to ensure crun works through all regression tests in RHEL 10.0 GA
      • Test to ensure that an upgrade to RHEL 10.0 from a system using runc completes and that all images and containers are stable after the upgrade.
      • Remove runc references from RHEL 10.0 documentation
      • Remove runc references from the containers.conf file man page, or note that it is not an option starting with RHEL 10.0
